History

The company’s history goes back to 1968, when Foreign Trade Enterprise for Motorization Industry POL-MOT started its activity, specializing in transactions concerning vehicles – cars, trucks, specialized cars, as well as units, spare parts and components to their production, assembly & service.

The export being realized reaches practically all continents, while import completes the offering at the home market and supplies components for production needs.

The company also contributes significantly to the Polish motorization development by executing licence contracts with such concerns as FIAT, BERLIET, ZAHNRADFABRIK, ARMSTRONG, STEYR and WABCO WESTINGHOUSE.

After transfomation of the State-owned Enterprise into commercial law entity – limited liability company – in 1983, POL-MOT has been continuing cooperation with production & distribution enterprises in motorization branch.

In the early nineties restructurization began with the goal of creating or joining to specialized entities in particular economic branches, often not connected with previous activities – this way the holding structure was built.

In 1993-1994 the Company POL-MOT Holding developed their activities, went through privatization and moved their head office to their own building, at 30 Prosta Street in Warsaw.

Next years, through subsidiaries and affiliated companies POL-MOT Holding extended and run activities, among others, in motorization branch segments – production of components & spare parts for cars, sale & service of cars, delivery vans and trucks, production & sale of agricultural machines and tractors, agri-alimentary processing, real estates, informatics, electronics, press publishing, stockbroker’s services, hotel industry and plastic products.

In the property make-up new companies emerged: POL-MOT Praszka j.s.c., ZEM Rzeszów, ZEM Duszniki j.s.c., Farm-Mot Ltd., and many others.

In 1997 POL-MOT transformed themselves into joint stock company, POL-MOT Holding j.s.c., and moved their head office to the building at 10 Rajców Street, after its thorough modernization.

Continuing engagement in farm tractors production bore fruit in 2000 in creating the company under POL-MOT ESCORTS, in which the partner was one of the three biggest world producers of tractors for agriculture – Indian company ESCORTS AGRI MACHINERY j.s.c.

Next years were mainly characterized by further consolidation and strengthening of the plants producing for agriculture, widening the share in the segments of licensed sale of cars & delivery vans, as well as investments in real estates.

In effect of further work, the whole up-to-now activities in the branch of production & sale of tractors and agricultural machines were grouped by POL-MOT WARFAMA j.s.c., the shares of which were admitted to public trading at Stock Exchange Market in Warsaw in December 2007. POL-MOT Holding j.s.c Group Companies’ share in sales at home market of cars from FIAT, HYUNDAI, LANCIA, OPEL & SKODA as well as delivery vans and trucks from IVECO has been also increasing.

In 2001 POL-MOT Holding j.s.c. (so far possessor of 40% of the club shares) purchased 30% of the Daewoo shares and additional 10% of shares from CWKS Legia, thus becoming the owner of majority holding in Sport Club LEGIA WARSZAWA SSA. In the season 2001/2002 the football players of Legia, under the lead of Serb, Dragomir Okuka, won their seventh championship (after 7 years of break), as well as the first in their history Polish League Cup (they won 3:0 and 3:1 with Wisła Kraków). Winning the championship of Poland enabled Legia starting in European cup tie. In the first round of UEFA cup tie Legia eliminated a Dutch team (they won 4:1 and 3:1 with FC Utrecht), as the first Polish team in the history. In the meantime Legia players beat the club record of subsequent league meetings without a defeat – since September 23rd, 1999 till November 9th, 2002 they didn’t loose any single of their 33 matches. In April 2004 POL-MOT Holding j.s.c. sold the club to the Group ITI Holdings j.s.c..

The developer’s activity of POL-MOT Holding has been developing with success, through realization of significant building investments on the possessed land.

We also count that our already several years’ engagement in energy production from renewable sources will be the evident answer to modern requirements of ecology and fuel market in Poland.
